Chapter 10 - THE UNEXPECTED TWISTThree months later, the Vance Global empire was thriving under Daniel’s visionary leadership, more transparent and profitable than it had ever been in its history. Victoria and David were awaiting trial in a federal penitentiary with no hope of parole. Peace had finally settled over the estate.

It was a crisp autumn afternoon. Daniel was sitting in the private home office reviewing quarterly reports when Marcus knocked softly and pushed the door open, holding a sealed, heavy cream-colored envelope bearing no return address.
"Boss, mail delivery just came in. This one was left specifically for you at the front gate by an anonymous courier," Marcus said, placing it on the desk.
Daniel raised an eyebrow, picking up a letter opener. "Anonymous? Did they leave a name?"
"No," Marcus replied, looking uneasy. "And what's stranger is that the security cameras around the front gate experienced a total electronic blackout for exactly thirty seconds right when it was dropped off."
Frowning, Daniel sliced open the envelope and pulled out a single sheet of heavy parchment paper. Written across it in neat, elegant handwriting were words that made his blood run completely cold:
Dear Daniel,
Congratulations on reclaiming your throne. You played the game brilliantly, defeating Victoria and David without breaking a sweat.
কিন্তু bạn có thực sự nghĩ rằng bạn đã tiêu diệt hết kẻ thù của mình chưa?*
The person who helped your stepmother poison your mother... the person who actually set up the fake embezzlement charges five years ago... is still sitting right beside you.
Look closely at the woman holding your child.
Sincerely, A Friend.

Daniel’s heart slammed against his ribs like a sledgehammer. His breath caught in his throat. Slowly, shaking violently, he lifted his eyes from the letter and turned his gaze toward the open double doors leading to the sunlit nursery down the hall, where Elena was singing softly to baby Lily, smiling warmly as she caught sight of him in the mirror.
THE END... OR JUST THE BEGINNING?
