The federal penitentiary upstate sent a final, routine legal notice: Julian’s final appeal had been formally dismissed by the Supreme Court, solidifying his twelve-year sentence without possibility of parole.

Savannah had been transferred to a low-security federal prison camp in Ohio, where her days were spent working in the facility laundry room—a far cry from the high-society schemes she had orchestrated with such ruthless arrogance.

I sat at my grand mahogany desk in the corporate headquarters, reviewing the final merger documents for our acquisition of an international green-energy tech firm. My phone rang with a direct, secure line from Uncle Thomas.

"Elena," Thomas’s voice was warm, filled with a deep, earned respect. "The board has officially voted unanimously to appoint you as Chairwoman of the entire Sterling Global conglomerate, effective immediately."

I smiled, leaning back in my leather executive chair. "Thank you, Uncle Thomas. It’s been quite a journey to get here."

"Not just a journey," Thomas chuckled softly. "A masterclass in survival. Your grandfather would be shedding tears of pride if he could see you right now."

I hung up the phone, stood up, and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the bustling financial district below. Thousands of people walked the streets, hurried and unaware of the silent battles waged in boardrooms and courtrooms across the city.
