Chapter 10 - THE GHOST TEAMThree months later.
I stood on the deck of an unmarked vessel in the middle of the Mediterranean, watching the horizon.
Beside me stood four individuals—a former SEAL who had been dishonorably discharged for doing the right thing, an intelligence officer who had been 'erased' by a corrupt senator, and two others whose records had been scrubbed clean.
We were a team of phantoms.
I looked down at the new file in my hand. My first mission.
I looked at my team, then back at the sea. The world thought I was an "office girl." They thought they could hit me, mock me, and push me aside.
They didn't know that the office girl was the one who controlled the shadows.
I signaled the team to launch the zodiac.
"Read the room," I whispered, stepping into the dark water.
