Chapter 8 - A New HorizonThe morning sun cast a golden glow across the polished oak floors of my foyer—the exact spot where my water had broken months ago, now sanded, refinished, and gleaming with new life.

"Everything is signed, sealed, and delivered, boss," Clara said cheerfully over the line. "The last of the offshore accounts has been fully repatriated into your trust. You officially own everything free and clear."
"Thank you, Clara," I replied, looking out the large picture window toward the quiet, tree-lined street. "Let's close the file."
"Closing file," she confirmed with a satisfied click of her keyboard. "What’s next on your agenda?"
"Living well," I said softly.

I took a deep breath of the crisp morning air, feeling the profound, unshakable strength of a woman who had walked through fire and emerged completely untouchable.
The game was over. The audit was complete. And my real life was finally beginning.
