Chapter 10 - Epilogue: A New DawnThe federal indictment against Judge Thomas Miller and Dr. Arthur Harrison dropped three days later, making front-page headlines across every major news network in the country. The arrest warrants were signed by a judge who couldn't be bought, backed by a mountain of encrypted digital evidence recovered from the safe room at Pine Valley Children's Hospital.

Harrison was sentenced to thirty years without parole, while Judge Miller’s sprawling political empire crumbled into dust overnight under the weight of federal corruption charges and human rights investigations.

But none of that made the evening news quite like what happened at Pine Valley Children's Hospital on discharge day.

I stood at the nurses' station, smiling as the double doors opened to let in the bright morning sunlight.

Sebastian Moretti stood there, wearing a simple, clean wool coat instead of his usual expensive tailored suit. No bodyguards stood threateningly behind him. Instead, a young, tired-looking Clara Miller stood beside him, clutching a small discharge bag, smiling through tears of overwhelming relief.

Sebastian carefully unclipped his expensive watch, sliding it off his wrist. Beneath it, the faded, seventeen-year-old hospital bracelet was gone—replaced by nothing at all, because the ghost that had haunted him for nearly two decades had finally been laid to rest.

He reached down and lifted Baby Boy Miller—whose legal birth certificate now officially read Leo Sebastian Moretti Jr.—into his arms with absolute, effortless grace.

As they walked past the nurses' station toward the exit, Sebastian stopped for a brief second, catching my eye. He gave a quiet, respectful nod of his head.

"Thank you, Nurse Evans," he said softly.

"Take care of your family, Mr. Moretti," I replied, watching as the city's most feared crime boss walked out into the morning light, cradling his grandson against his heart, ready to start a legacy built not on fear, but on redemption.
