Chapter 6 - Breach"We have to hide," I hissed, grabbing Sebastian's sleeve. "The emergency stairwell at the end of the hall—"

"Locked," Sebastian interrupted, his voice steady as granite. "They cut the digital locks and jammed the manual overrides. We're in a box, Nurse Evans."

"Then what do we do? There are armed men out there!"

Sebastian looked down at Baby Boy Miller, who had finally drifted back into a deep, peaceful sleep against his chest. For a fleeting second, a look of profound tenderness washed over his hardened features, quickly replaced by an expression of cold, calculated fury.

"You stay right here," Sebastian said, pulling his suit jacket off the back of the chair and draping it carefully over the baby to shield him from the draft and any potential danger. "Keep him warm. Do not let him make a sound."

"Wait, you're not going out there alone?" I gasped.

"I've waited seventeen years for the architects of that fire to show their faces," Sebastian murmured, rolling up his shirt sleeves to reveal forearms covered in intricate, dark tattoos and old scars. "They came to my doorstep tonight. That makes this personal."

Before I could stop him, Sebastian stepped away from the incubator, walking calmly toward the glass double doors of the NICU.

Outside, the silhouette of Dr. Harrison stood illuminated by the emergency lights, flanked by four heavily armed tactical operatives wearing unmarked black vests. Harrison held a heavy master keycard in his hand, pressing it against the exterior security panel.

Beep.

The magnetic locks disengaged with a sharp click.

As the doors swung inward, Dr. Harrison stepped across the threshold with a smug, vindictive smile plastered across his face.

"End of the line, Moretti," Harrison sneered, gesturing to the armed guards behind him. "You really thought you could walk into my hospital and start digging through confidential archives? You're trespassing in a restricted medical zone with a stolen infant. We're taking the child back, and you're going to have a very unfortunate 'accidental slip' down the freight elevator shaft."

Sebastian didn't flinch. He didn't raise his voice. He simply took two slow steps forward, closing the distance between them.

"You always were a coward, Arthur," Sebastian said smoothly. "Even seventeen years ago, when you watched St. Jude's burn from the parking lot while clutching a briefcase full of dirty money, you couldn't pull the trigger yourself. You always hired men to do your dirty work."

Harrison’s smug smile faltered. His eyes widened in sudden, stark recognition.

"You..." Harrison choked out, taking a panicked step backward. "You're the kid from Ward B. The one we threw in the snow."

"And I've come back to collect," Sebastian whispered.
