Chapter 2 - THIRTY YEARS OF SILENCE BROKEN BY A WHISPER FROM THE GRAVE

Ethan broke the wax seal with shaking fingers as Olivia leaned against him, her breath hitching in her chest. The handwriting was unmistakable—the sharp, arrogant stroke of his late father. But the contents made Ethan’s blood run cold. “If you are reading this, Ethan, then Derek has failed to eliminate her. You think you saved a victim, my naive son. You think you built a sanctuary. But the woman you carried up those steps was never pregnant with your child. Look beneath the floorboard of the nursery if you dare to know what truly died that night.” Ethan looked at Olivia, expecting outrage, expecting tears of denial. Instead, he saw a cold, calculating stillness wash over her face—a look he had never seen in thirty years of marriage.
