Chapter 1 - SHE WAS LEAVING THE HOSPITAL WITH TRIPLETS. HE THOUGHT HE RUINED HER, BUT HE JUST UNLOCKED A BILLIONAIRE’S WRATH!

The sterile scent of rubbing alcohol and cheap lavender soap in Hospital San Ángel felt like a mockery of the storm brewing inside Room 402. Valeria Montes looked down at her hands. They were trembling, rough, and swollen from the IV drips. Just forty-eight hours ago, she had brought three beautiful lives into this world—Mateo, Emiliano, and Bruno. They were sleeping peacefully in their plastic bassinets, blissfully unaware that their father had just traded them for a designer handbag and a forged divorce decree.

But as the door clicked shut behind Adrián Velasco and his mistress, Celeste Navarro, the heavy, suffocating silence of the room was broken by a sound Adrián had never heard in his five years of marriage to Valeria.

Valeria laughed.

It started as a low, ragged whisper from her chest, catching on the stitches of her cesarean section, before sharpening into a cold, lethal chuckle. She looked at her father, Ignacio Montes, who stood by the window. His tailored Italian suit didn't belong in this public hospital wing, just like his true identity didn't belong in the modest lifestyle Valeria had insisted on living.

"He thought he married an orphan with a degree in art history," Valeria whispered, her voice tightening as she wiped a rogue tear from her cheek. "He thought he could starve me out."

Ignacio Montes didn't smile. He adjusted his platinum cufflinks, his eyes reflecting the cold glare of the city lights outside. For five years, he had honored his daughter’s wish to live a "normal life" away from the suffocating paparazzi and dangerous cutthroat politics of the Montes Conglomerate—the largest luxury retail and shipping empire in Latin America. Valeria had wanted to know if Adrián loved her or her net worth. Now, she had her answer.

"The signature on this notary abandonment form," Ignacio said, his voice dropping an octave as he flipped through the documents Adrián had left behind. "It's a clever forgery. He used an old digital scan from your university thesis release forms. He’s been planning this for months, Valeria. Ever since he found out you were carrying triplets."

"And Celeste's bag?" Valeria asked, her eyes narrowing. "The black Birkin 30 in matte alligator skin. There is a three-year waiting list for that specific model."

A elegant woman stepped out from the shadows near the bathroom. It was Elena Montes, Valeria’s mother. Her face was a mask of aristocratic fury. She held a sleek smartphone, scrolling through a secure ledger that only five people in the world had access to.

"That specific Birkin," Elena said, her voice dropping like dry ice, "was manufactured six months ago by our French subsidiary. It was shipped directly to our flagship boutique in Polanco. It was reserved for the wife of a foreign minister. Do you know who cleared the inventory adjustment for it, Valeria?"

Valeria’s breath hitched. "Adrián’s firm handles the logistics for the Polanco boutique."

"Worse," Elena replied, showing her the screen. "Adrián didn't buy it. He leased it through a corporate shell company under the guise of 'marketing influencer outreach.' But the actual approval came from a secondary account linked to a man named Roberto Navarro. Celeste’s father."

The pieces of the puzzle began to slam into place with terrifying velocity. Adrián hadn't just cheated; he was embezzling from the very luxury house that Valeria’s family owned under an umbrella corporation. He had no idea that the "stuffy corporate clients" he tried so hard to impress were actually front operations managed by his wife's parents.

"He wants a war," Valeria said, lifting her head high, ignoring the sharp pain in her abdomen as she sat up completely straight. "Let’s give him an empire collapsing on his head. But not yet. Let him celebrate first. A man only falls hard when he thinks he’s standing on top of the world."

Ignacio smiled—a dangerous, terrifying expression. He picked up his phone and dialed a three-digit speed dial that bypassed every corporate secretary in the country.

"Call the Chief of Police. Tell him to hold off on the forgery warrant for forty-eight hours. And call our banking division. I want Adrián Velasco’s corporate credit lines inflated by five hundred percent tonight."

Valeria looked at her three sons. "Sleep well, my angels," she whispered. "Your father thinks you are a burden. By next week, your names will be on the deed of every building he has ever stepped foot in."
