The heavy oak doors of the boardroom slowly swung open.

"Not a regulatory body, gentlemen," a calm, digitized voice echoed from the room's communication speaker system, connecting directly from a secure satellite link. "An acquisition."
The conglomerate CEO slowly opened the folder. Inside was a single, legally binding corporate buyout agreement—valuing his entire multinational enterprise at exactly one dollar.
"You can't do this!" the CEO shouted, standing up so fast his chair crashed backward onto the floor. "This is a hostile corporate takeover! We will fight this in every international court on the planet!"
The voice on the speaker chuckled softly—a cool, melodic sound that carried the weight of absolute dominance.
"You are welcome to try, gentlemen," the voice replied smoothly. "Though it is rather difficult to litigate when your entire executive board has just been indicted for corporate espionage, international money laundering, and conspiracy against protected technological assets. Federal authorities are already waiting in the lobby."
