Chapter 5 - The Blood Debt Paid

"Kill them," Moretti ordered coldly.
Before the guards could pull their triggers, Helena hit a button on the small remote control she had swiped from Corbin’s pocket.
The emergency fire suppression system didn't spray water—it released high-density, blinding chemical foam designed for fuel fires. The garage was instantly blanketed in a thick, choking white fog.
Shouts of panic echoed through the garage as the mercenaries fired blindly. But Helena didn't need eyes; she had memorized the positions of every car and pillar. She moved through the white mist like a ghost.
Crack. Groan. Thud.
One by one, Moretti’s men dropped in the dark. Roman moved in from the flank, taking down those who tried to flee the fog. Helena emerged from the smoke directly in front of Don Moretti.
Moretti panicked, drawing a gold-plated revolver, but Helena closed the distance instantly. She disarmed him with a brutal wrist-lock, shattered his knee with a heavy kick, and forced him to his knees.
The fog began to clear. Roman walked up, his suit torn and covered in soot, looking down at the defeated Don.
"It’s over, Moretti," Roman said, raising his gun.
"Wait," Helena commanded.
Roman paused, looking at her. "He killed your family, Helena. You want the honor?"
Helena looked down at Moretti, her face completely expressionless. "No. I don't want to kill him. Because if he dies now, he takes the location of the Leone family gold with him."
Moretti spat blood on the floor, laughing weakly. "You'll never find it, girl. It's buried where only the dead can see it."
Helena knelt down, whispering into Moretti's ear. The old Don's eyes suddenly widened in sheer terror. His jaw trembled. "You... you know?"
May you like
"I've always known," Helena whispered. She then stood up and turned to Roman. "Kill him. He’s no longer useful."
With a single, deafening shot, Roman ended the Moretti regime.
