CHAPTER 7 — The Billionaire's Darkest Secret

Just when Ethan believed the nightmare was over...
an anonymous package arrived at Caldwell Tower.
No return address.
No fingerprints.
Inside was a single flash drive.
Along with one handwritten sentence.
"You survived the heart attack... but can you survive the truth?"
Marissa immediately called security.
The drive was scanned before anyone opened it.
What they found made the room fall silent.
The first video showed Ethan's late wife, Olivia.
Laughing.
Healthy.
Holding his hand.
The timestamp was dated only three days before the car crash that had killed her seven years earlier.
Then another video.
A private meeting.
Nathan Caldwell.
Douglas Pierce.
And someone else whose face was hidden.
"...If Ethan signs the restructuring plan after Olivia dies, the housing division becomes ours."
The voice belonged to Nathan.
Another voice answered.
"He won't think straight after the funeral."
The recording ended abruptly.
Ethan's hands trembled—not from illness this time, but from rage.
He had spent seven years believing Olivia's death had been a tragic accident.
Now, for the first time, someone was suggesting otherwise.
Marissa looked at him carefully.
"We need the police."
Ethan nodded.
"No."
"We need the truth."
Within hours, a retired homicide detective named Samuel Reed reopened the cold case.
The official report had blamed heavy rain and brake failure.
But Samuel noticed something investigators had ignored years earlier.
Olivia's luxury sedan had undergone maintenance the day before the crash.
At a garage...
owned by one of Nathan Caldwell's shell companies.
The detective looked up from the file.
"If someone tampered with those brakes..."
"...this wasn't an accident."

Now it might finally reveal who had stolen the love of his life.
