CHAPTER 1 – The Man Everyone Thought Was Invisible

The marble lobby of the Sterling Crown Tower gleamed beneath enormous crystal chandeliers. Every inch of the building screamed wealth. Luxury executives hurried across the polished floor carrying designer briefcases while investors chatted about million-dollar contracts.
Only one person seemed invisible.
An elderly janitor named Samuel Brooks quietly knelt beside a gray bucket, wiping coffee stains from the spotless marble floor.
His faded uniform had been patched several times.
His shoes were so worn that the soles barely held together.
Most employees didn't even know his name.
To them...
He was simply "the old cleaner."
A group of young executives stepped out of the elevator, laughing loudly after closing the company's biggest deal of the year.
One of them accidentally kicked over Samuel's bucket.
Dirty water splashed across the floor.
The executives burst into laughter.
"Oops..."
"I guess that's job security for you."
Samuel quietly reached for the bucket.
"It's alright, sir. I'll clean it again."
Instead of helping, another executive deliberately dropped his empty coffee cup into the dirty water.
"Since you're already cleaning..."
"Take this too."
More laughter echoed through the luxurious lobby.
Samuel lowered his head.
Not because he was ashamed.
Because after forty years of raising a son alone...
He had learned that pride never paid the bills.
The security guards watched silently.
The receptionist looked away.
Nobody wanted to defend an old janitor.
As Samuel wiped the floor once more, he noticed someone standing near the elevator.
An older gentleman wearing a perfectly tailored navy suit.
Silver hair.
Sharp blue eyes.
He hadn't spoken a single word.
He simply watched everything.
Samuel thought he was another wealthy guest.
So he smiled politely and returned to work.
He had no idea...
May you like
The stranger had witnessed every second.
And his expression grew colder with every laugh filling the lobby.
