Chapter 1 - The Silver Blade and the Shocking Truth

Viral Headline: THEY TIED HER UP TO RUIN HER LIFE—BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHO HER TRUE PROTECTOR WAS!The small, silver object in the man’s hand wasn’t a weapon, but a sleek, high-end pocket knife. With a swift, fluid motion, he sliced through the pale gold rope binding Mara’s wrists. The tension snapped, and Mara stumbled forward, her circulation rushing back in a painful wave. Before she could fall, his strong hand caught her elbow, anchoring her.

“Who are you to interfere in my wedding?” Vivienne shrieked, her perfectly rehearsed bridal facade cracking. “That girl is a thief and a saboteur! She ruined my dress!”

The man ignored Vivienne entirely. He kept his dark, piercing eyes locked on Mara. “Can you stand?” he asked, his voice a low, commanding baritone that effortlessly silenced the murmurs of the two hundred elite guests.

“Yes,” Mara whispered, rubbing her raw, reddened wrists. “Thank you.”

The man finally turned to face the crowd. This was Nikolai Volkov, a man whose name was whispered in fear and reverence across the city’s underground. The Bellamys had invited him in a desperate bid to secure a business alliance, never imagining he would side with their family outcast.

“You claim she ruined the dress,” Nikolai said, stepping toward Vivienne. The sheer aura of danger radiating from him made the bridesmaids take a collective step back. “But I don't care about the dress. I care about the truth.”

Nikolai snapped his fingers. One of his security guards immediately stepped forward, holding a sleek black tablet.

“What is the meaning of this?” Vivienne’s mother, Eleanor, demanded, trying to reclaim her aristocratic dignity. “This is a private family matter. Mara has always been jealous of my daughter. She came here early specifically to—”

“Your daughter arrived at this venue at 8:00 AM,” Nikolai interrupted, his voice cutting through Eleanor’s tirade like ice. “The security feeds for the bridal suite were supposedly turned off for 'privacy.' However, my men control the primary server room of this entire estate.”

He turned the tablet around, displaying a crystal-clear video feed to the entire corridor.

The video showed Vivienne upstairs in her suite, holding a bottle of red wine. Her face wasn't filled with bridal joy; it was twisted in a mask of pure malice. With absolute deliberation, Vivienne had poured the crimson liquid directly over the bodice of her own gown. She then hid the bottle, tore at her hair, and began to scream.

A collective gasp echoed through the corridor. The guests began to whisper furiously.

Vivienne’s face drained of all color. “No... that’s a fake! It’s a deepfake! He’s trying to ruin me!”

“You ruined yourself,” Nikolai said coldly. He looked down at the pale gold rope on the floor, then back to the terrified bride. “You tied an innocent woman to a pillar to cover up your own sickness. But the real question is... why would a bride destroy her own wedding day just to frame her cousin?”

Mara looked at the video, then at Vivienne’s trembling hands. The real nightmare was only just beginning.
