Chapter 14

By evening, the fallout of the boardroom confrontation had swept through the underworld like wildfire. The Vance family had quietly dropped all threats, and Vivienne had packed her bags for a sudden, permanent trip abroad, realizing her reign in high society was finished.

Back at the Blackwood estate, the atmosphere had transformed. The heavy, oppressive tension that once haunted the corridors was replaced by an efficient, quiet order managed seamlessly by Ivy.

She stood on the grand balcony of the master wing, watching the sunset bleed amber and violet over the sprawling gardens below. The cool evening breeze caught the edge of her tailored blazer.

Footsteps echoed softly behind her, followed by the familiar, comforting scent of cedar and rain.

"You've been working non-stop for eighteen hours," Ronan’s low voice broke the quiet. He stepped out onto the balcony, holding two crystal glasses filled with dark amber whiskey. He extended one toward her.

Ivy turned, taking the glass with a small nod of gratitude. "An empire doesn't run itself, Mr. Blackwood."

"Ronan," he corrected quietly, his dark eyes fixing on hers in the fading light. "I believe we're past formal titles, considering you practically own half my corporate assets now."
