Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Betrayal RevealedThe police cruisers arrived in a screech of tires, and within minutes, the luxury penthouse was swarming with uniformed officers.

Richard, Vivian, and Brooke were marched out in handcuffs, flashbulbs popping as neighborhood paparazzi—once again tipped off by my relentless legal team—captured the glorious spectacle of the disgraced elites being led away in disgrace.
Even baby Chloe was safely handed over to child protective services temporarily until her biological maternal grandparents could be located, since Brooke had conveniently neglected to mention her own troubled history or legal entanglements.
Back inside the ransacked penthouse, as forensic investigators dusted for fingerprints and cataloged the damage, Marcus Vance handed me a thick, yellowed manila envelope.
“What’s this?” I asked, sinking tiredly into a clean armchair.
“While we were reviewing Richard’s offshore corporate accounts this morning, our forensic team uncovered a secondary safety deposit box registered under a blind trust in the Cayman Islands,” Marcus explained, pulling out a stack of confidential documents. “It contains things Richard thought he had successfully hidden from you—and from his previous business partners.”
I opened the folder. My eyes widened as I scanned the contents.
It wasn't just corporate embezzlement. It was a massive, premeditated fraud scheme dating back six years—right around the time Richard and I first met. He had systematically drained funds from my late father’s startup ventures, funneling them into his personal accounts before we were even married, using forged signatures to make it look like my father had authorized the transfers.
Even worse, there was a signed medical and financial agreement proving that Richard had fathered baby Chloe with Brooke two full years before our marriage ended, and had been secretly supporting their household using funds embezzled directly from Ethan’s college trust fund.
The rage that surged through me wasn't hot or blinding; it was a cold, laser-focused fury.
He didn't just cheat on me. He didn't just belittle my son. He had systematically tried to rob my family of everything we had built over generations.
“Can we use this to strip him of everything legally?” I asked, looking up at Marcus with absolute resolve.
Marcus smiled grimly. “Not only can we strip him of everything, Amanda, but with these documents, the federal prosecutor's office will likely pursue criminal felony charges carrying up to fifteen years in federal prison.”

I stood up, walking over to the floor-to-ceiling glass window overlooking the glittering skyline of the city.
“File all of it,” I said softly. “No mercy. Let’s finish this once and for all.”
