Chapter 2 – What They Found Inside Changed Everything

Medical teams rushed toward the secured area while bomb technicians carefully approached the suitcase by hand.

Daniel knelt beside Rex.

"Stay."

The dog trembled, never taking his eyes off the luggage.

One technician slowly pulled the zipper open.

Just one inch.

A weak cry escaped.

Then another.

Everyone stared in disbelief.

Inside the cramped suitcase...

Curled into a tiny ball...

Was a little girl.

She couldn't have been older than six.

Her face was pale.

Her lips were dry.

Her wrists were covered with bruises.

She hugged a worn-out stuffed rabbit against her chest as tears rolled silently down her cheeks.

The entire station fell into complete silence.

One paramedic whispered,

"Oh my God..."

Daniel immediately lifted the child into his arms.

She was frighteningly light.

Barely conscious.

As soon as she felt fresh air, she opened her eyes.

Instead of crying...

She looked directly at Rex.

With trembling fingers...

She reached toward the dog.

Rex gently licked her tiny hand.

For the first time in what seemed like days...

The little girl smiled.

Everyone around them struggled to hold back tears.

"You're safe now," Daniel whispered.

But then...

The child quietly spoke five words that instantly erased everyone's relief.

"They're still watching me."

Daniel froze.

"What did you say?"

She looked nervously around the crowded station.

"They told me..."

"...if I talked..."

"...they would hurt my brother."

Daniel's blood ran cold.

"There’s another child?"

The girl nodded weakly.

"He's still with them."

Every officer immediately realized the nightmare wasn't over.

Whoever abandoned the suitcase hadn't simply disappeared.

They were nearby.

Watching.

Waiting.

And before surveillance teams could lock down every exit...

A security guard shouted from across the station.

"Officer!"

Daniel turned.

The station's CCTV monitor showed a hooded man standing motionless on the opposite platform.

He wasn't running.

He wasn't hiding.

He was staring directly at the rescue scene...

Then...

He slowly smiled.

And walked away.

Daniel took off after him without hesitation.

Behind him, Rex exploded into a sprint.

Neither of them realized they were chasing a man who had carefully planned every second of what was about to happen next...
