Chapter 7 - The Tables TurnRichard didn't answer Captain Vance immediately.

He slowly walked past Victoria, ignoring her entirely, and knelt down in front of his three sons. He gently touched Noah’s scraped knee, his fingers trembling with a remorse that would haunt him for the rest of his life.
"I'm sorry," Richard whispered, his voice thick with tears. "I was a blind fool. But I promise you... no one will ever hurt you again. Never."
Ethan wiped a tear from his cheek with a dirty hand. "Are we going to live with Miss Emily now?"
Richard looked up, meeting Emily’s steady, unblinking gaze. A profound sense of humility washed over the billionaire. He stood up, squared his shoulders, and turned back to the police captain.
"Captain Vance," Richard’s voice rang out, carrying the absolute weight of command. "Arrest Victoria Lane. Charge her with child endangerment, unlawful imprisonment, grand larceny, and corporate espionage."
"You can't do this!" Victoria screamed, lunging forward like a cornered animal. Two police officers instantly stepped in, grabbing her arms and twisting them behind her back. "Richard! You need me! Without me, your company’s board will tear you apart! You’ll lose everything!"
"My company will survive," Richard said coldly, watching as the stainless-steel handcuffs clicked around her wrists. "My children survived you. And as for your access to my accounts? It was frozen the moment Emily handed me this ledger."
Victoria thrashed against the officers, her makeup smearing, her beautiful facade completely obliterated. As they dragged her toward the black unmarked van, she glared at Emily with eyes full of pure, burning hatred.
"You think you won?!" Victoria screamed over the wailing sirens. "She’s just a hired hand! She’ll never belong in your world, Richard! You’ll always be alone!"

The heavy steel doors of the van slammed shut, cutting off her hysterical shrieks.
Silence descended upon the street once more, broken only by the gentle rustle of morning leaves.
