Chapter 4 - The Fall of the DynastiesThe shockwave from the private dining room tore through the Whitmore estate faster than a wildfire through dry timber.

Within minutes, the glittering ballroom downstairs had transformed from a high-society celebration into a breeding ground for scandal. Whispers rippled through the crowd like static electricity. Flashbulbs from hidden smartphone cameras—smuggled in by ambitious influencers—flashed erratically, capturing the image of the billionaire heir standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a woman in a maid’s uniform.
Arthur Sinclair was purple with rage. "You arrogant, ungrateful little bastard!" he roared, jabbing a thick finger into Adrien’s chest as security guards rushed into the corridor. "You think you can humiliate my family in front of the entire eastern seaboard and walk away? Sinclair International will crush you! We hold forty percent of your supply chain debt! By morning, your stock will be worthless!"
"Try fifty percent," a calm, rhythmic voice echoed from the grand staircase.
Every head turned.
Elena Alvarez—the quiet, unassuming head housekeeper who had managed the estate for two decades—was walking down the steps. She wasn't holding a clipboard anymore. In her hand was a thick, secure leather portfolio bearing the seal of one of the country’s top corporate law firms.
Arthur blinked, squinting at her. "Who the hell are you? A maid lecturing me?"
"Not a maid, Mr. Sinclair," Elena replied, her voice cutting through the noise with the authority of a seasoned general. "I am Elena Whitmore-Alvarez. Adrien’s aunt. And the majority shareholder of Whitmore Holdings' parent trust."
A collective gasp echoed through the corridor. Even Adrien blinked in surprise, looking at the woman who had spent years folding linens and managing kitchen staff.
Elena stopped at the bottom of the stairs, opening the portfolio with agonizing slowness. "For six months, I placed Maya Coleman in this household to watch, listen, and document. And boy, did she document." She pulled out a stack of certified financial records, encrypted email printouts, and wire transfer logs. "Shell companies in the Caymans. Embezzlement from public infrastructure grants. Bribes paid to three members of our own board of directors to force a hostile merger. All signed off by Arthur and Vanessa Sinclair."
Vanessa’s face lost all color. She stumbled backward, grabbing onto a marble pillar for support. "That’s... that’s a lie! Those documents are forged! You're a bunch of low-class thieves trying to ruin us!"
"Forgery leaves digital footprints, Vanessa," Maya spoke up for the first time. Her voice wasn't loud, but it held a terrifying, crystalline clarity. She stepped forward from Adrien’s side, untying her white apron and letting it drop to the floor like discarded armor. "Just like the hospital records you tried to tamper with three weeks ago to cut off my mother’s life support funding so I would be too desperate to notice what was happening in the estate’s private archives."

The room went dead silent.
Arthur turned sharply toward his daughter, his eyes wide with horror and betrayal. "You did what?"
