Chapter 8 - THE FINAL STANDOFFThe gunfire tapered off as Viktor’s surviving men dropped their weapons, raising their hands in surrender while Cyrus stood over them, his jaws dripping, growling menacingly whenever a finger twitched.

Julian walked slowly toward Viktor, his boots clicking rhythmically against the blood-stained floor. He stopped two feet away, pressing the barrel of his gun against Viktor’s forehead.
"Ten years, Viktor," Julian said softly, his voice carrying an icy, terrifying calm. "I trusted you with my accounts, my shipments, my back. And you sold me out for a coup that didn't even last ten minutes."
"J-Julian, wait!" Viktor stammered, falling to his knees, pissing himself in sheer terror. "We can talk about this! We're brothers in arms—!"
"You're trash," Julian interrupted coldly.
Bang.
The shot echoed through the empty sports complex like a thunderclap. Viktor slumped forward into the dirt, lifeless. The remaining traitors dropped to their knees, begging for mercy. Julian didn't even look at them. He gestured to his loyal enforcers. "Tie them up. Feed them to the sharks in the morning."
Silence descended upon the arena once more, heavier and bloodier than before.
Julian turned his gaze toward the heavy steel generator where Maisie and Leo were huddled. He holstered his weapon, adjusted his lapels, and walked over, his expression unreadable.

Leo scrambled to stand in front of Maisie, trembling like a leaf. "P-Please, Mr. Hart. We don't want the million dollars. Just let us go home. We won't tell anyone, I swear on my life!"
Julian ignored Leo entirely. He knelt down on one knee in the dirt, looking directly at the blind girl who had completely upended his world in less than ten minutes.
