A blinding dome of blue light erupted from my small device, expanding outward in a massive shockwave. Every headlight on the Apex SUVs exploded into sparks. The mercenaries' high-tech rifles short-circuited, sparking furiously and throwing the men off their feet. Sterling was knocked backward onto the cold pavement, his high-tech earpiece bursting into smoke.
The dock plunged into pitch darkness as the power grid along the pier went dead.
