Chapter 6 - The Bloodline Alliance (The Ultimate Finale)

Hook: The final hour. The cure is in hand, the enemies are closing in, and a shocking secret is about to rewrite the past.

The helicopter crashed violently into the flooded plaza of the financial district, its blades ripping through concrete before coming to a grinding halt.

Miraculously, the main cabin remained intact. Toby was thrown clear into a shallow pool of rainwater, his body bruised and battered, but his backpack still securely strapped to his chest. He coughed up water, struggling to his feet just as Arthur’s SUV screeched to a halt right next to him.

Arthur and Clara dragged Toby into the vehicle.

"Do you have it?" Arthur asked, his voice raw with desperation.

Toby unzipped his bag and pulled out the intact silver thermos. "Get it to Leo. Now."

Clara immediately opened the thermos, extracting the master compound. With steady, practiced hands, she filled a syringe and injected the deep gold liquid directly into her son's neck, right into the center of the silver-blue puncture mark.

For ten agonizing seconds, nothing happened. The infant lay completely still.

Then, a sharp, gasping breath broke the silence inside the SUV.

Leo’s eyes flew open. The dark green veins beneath his skin began to fade, replaced by a healthy, rosy flush. The baby let out a loud, clear, vibrant cry—the most beautiful sound his parents had ever heard. Clara broke down into uncontrolled tears of joy, cradling her son against her chest. "He's back... Oh my god, he's back."

But their victory was short-lived.

Three black armored vehicles boxed the SUV into the plaza. Victor Sterling stepped out of the lead vehicle, flanked by twelve heavily armed mercenaries. He looked at the smoking ruins of the helicopter and the living baby in Clara's arms, his face twisting with venomous hatred.

"It ends here, Arthur," Sterling said, raising his weapon. "You lose. The board has already voted. You are legally dead as of ten minutes ago. I control everything."

Arthur stepped out of the SUV, raising his hands, but his face held no fear. Instead, he smiled.

"You're right, Victor. The board did vote," Arthur said calmly. "But they didn't vote for you. They voted based on the financial data I just leaked from your private vault while Toby was upstairs. Every offshore account, every assassination contract, every bribe you've ever paid—it’s currently being broadcasted on every news channel in the world."

Sterling’s phone began to ring frantically. He looked down at the screen. It was the Chairman of the Board.

Behind the mercenaries, six police cruisers tore into the plaza, sirens wailing, their searchlights pinning Sterling and his men in place.

"Drop your weapons!" the police megaphone boomed. "Victor Sterling, you are under arrest for attempted murder, corporate espionage, and high treason!"

The mercenaries immediately dropped their guns, realizing the man paying them was completely ruined. Sterling fell to his knees in the wet concrete, his empire collapsing to ash around him.

THREE MONTHS LATER...The sun shone brightly over the grand courtyard of the Vance Estate.

Baby Leo was laughing, crawling across the lush green grass, completely healthy and safe. Clara sat nearby, watching him with a peaceful smile she hadn't possessed in years.

Arthur walked out onto the terrace, holding a set of official legal documents. He approached Toby, who was sitting on the stone wall. Toby was no longer wearing torn clothes or worn-out shoes; he was dressed in a clean, tailored jacket, though he still kept his old, faded backpack by his side.

"The paperwork is finalized, Toby," Arthur said softly, handing him the documents.

Toby looked down at the papers. It wasn't an adoption form. It was a legal deed of trust, designating Toby as the official guardian and co-heir to the Vance Global Syndicate, alongside Leo. But there was something else attached—a DNA profile report that Arthur had run out of curiosity when they were checking Toby for injuries at a private clinic.

Toby’s eyes widened as he read the names on the genetic match.

"We looked into your history, Toby," Arthur said, his voice thick with emotion. "Ten years ago, my older brother, Julian, died in a tragic accident. His wife disappeared shortly after, pregnant. We searched for that child for years, but the trail went cold on the streets."

Arthur placed a hand on Toby's shoulder, his eyes gleaming with tears.

"You didn't just happen to find my wallet, Toby. You didn't just happen to wander into that hospital room. You were drawn to us because you're a Vance. You're my nephew. You saved your cousin's life."

Toby looked from the papers to baby Leo, who was currently looking up at him, letting out a small, happy giggle. For the first time in his life, the boy from the streets felt warm. He didn't have to search through trash bins anymore. He didn't have to hide in boiler rooms.
