Chapter 8 - The Ultimate Betrayal RevealedThe oak double doors of the Moretti drawing room exploded inward with a deafening crash.

"Drop your weapons!" Lucas roared, leading the tactical team into the room with rifles leveled.

Dante Moretti didn't even flinch. He sat comfortably in a leather armchair beside the roaring fire, swirling a glass of amber scotch. Two armed guards standing near the French doors raised their hands immediately as red laser sights painted their chests.

At the center of the room sat Elena.

She turned her head slowly, looking at Adrian as he strode through the shattered doorway, breathless and desperate.

"Adrian," Dante said, smiling lazily. "You always were theatrical. Breaking into my house in the middle of the night. You really are a devoted husband—or a very stubborn fool."

"Let her go, Dante," Adrian growled, raising his Glock and pointing it directly between Dante’s eyes.

Dante chuckled, taking a sip of his scotch. "You think I kidnapped her, Adrian? You really think I dragged her out here against her will?"

Adrian’s eyes flicked to Elena. "Elena... tell me this is a lie."

Elena slowly stood up from her chair. She didn't look scared. She didn't look like a captive. She looked like a woman who held all the cards in the world.

She walked over to Dante’s side, resting a hand calmly on the back of his armchair.

"It’s not a lie, Adrian," Elena said softly. Her voice was steady, devoid of all the warmth he had once known.

Adrian froze. The gun in his hand felt heavy, impossibly hard to hold.

"What... what are you saying?" Adrian whispered.

"Grant Mercer and Roland Pierce were amateurs," Dante explained, setting his glass down with a soft click. "They thought they could use us to take over your empire. But they were small fish. They didn't see the big picture."

Dante looked up at Elena with genuine respect in his eyes.

"Meet the real mastermind behind the Moretti-Vale alliance," Dante smiled. "My daughter."

The room went completely silent, save for the crackling of the fire and the howling wind outside.

Adrian staggered back half a step, the air entirely vanishing from his lungs.

"Your... daughter?" Adrian stared at Elena, his mind fracturing under the weight of the impossible truth.

"Elena Moretti," Elena said, her eyes cold and sharp as broken glass. "Not Elena Vance. My father planted me in your life five years ago, Adrian. The chance meeting at the coffee shop? The stolen takeout on the kitchen floor? Every single second of it was scripted to get inside your fortress, map your security blind spots, and wait for the right moment to tear your empire down from the inside."
