Chapter 9 - Awakening"Lily! Oh, baby, my sweet baby girl," Sarah sobbed, frantically slicing through the zip-ties binding her daughter to the chair.

She ripped the nebulizer mask off, pulled the little girl into her arms, and crushed her against her chest, covering her face with desperate, tearful kisses.
Lily blinked her big brown eyes, coughing softly into her mother’s shoulder. "Mommy...? You came back. You really came back."
"I'm never leaving you again, sweetheart. I swear it," Sarah wept, holding her so tightly she could feel the tiny, fragile beat of her daughter's heart.
Across the room, Thomas was still on his knees, leaning against a server rack. The adrenaline was slowly fading, leaving behind the dull, crushing ache of bruised ribs and a brain trying desperately to stitch together two entirely different lifetimes.
Footsteps crunched against the glass and plaster dust.
Sarah stood up, holding Lily securely in one arm, and walked slowly over to Thomas. She dropped to her knees right in front of him, her green eyes shimmering with tears, her hand trembling as she reached out to touch his face.
"Tommy..." she whispered, her voice breaking. "I'm so sorry. I had to do it. If I hadn't let them fake my death, they would have killed you both five years ago. My father... the board... they are monsters."
Thomas looked up at her. The anger, the confusion, and the grief were all still there—but beneath them, rising like the sun through a breaking storm, was the unmistakable warmth of a love that time, memory wipes, and billionaire conspiracies could never truly erase.
He slowly reached up, his bruised, blood-stained hand resting gently against her cheek, tracing the exact line of her jaw that he had wept over in the dark for twenty-four long months.
"You're a terrible liar, Sarah Miller," Thomas whispered, a faint, ragged smile finally breaking through his lips. "You always were."

Sarah let out a wet, breathless laugh, burying her face against his shoulder as Lily wrapped her small arms around both of them, pulling her family back together in the wreckage of a billion-dollar fortress.
Around them, federal agents hauled Julian Vance out in handcuffs, snapping shut the final chapter of a corporate war that had nearly destroyed everything they loved. But inside that cold server room, none of that mattered anymore.
