Chapter 5 - The Smoking Gun on the ScreenThe conference room froze as the video began to play.

On the screen, clear as day, was Diego sitting across from a shady corporate notary public, frantically practicing Alejandro’s signature over and over on a digital tablet, while laughing with an accomplice about how easy it was to fool the system.
Audio filled the room, crisp and damning:
“Once this is filed, my idiot brother won't even know what hit him,” Diego’s voice echoed through the high-end surround-sound speakers of the boardroom. “We’ll freeze his personal assets, kick him out of the house, and take total control of the distribution network. Mother played her part brilliantly, acting like the victim while she watched him like a hawk.”
The color drained entirely from Diego’s face. He looked like he had just seen a ghost. His mouth opened and closed, but no words came out.
Ofelia clutched her pearls, her chest heaving as she glared at her youngest son in absolute betrayal. “Diego... you absolute fool! You recorded it?!”
“Mother, shut up!” Diego panicked, lunging forward to unplug the console, but two burly corporate security guards instantly stepped out from the shadows of the boardroom doors, pinning his arms behind his back and forcing him down onto the table.
“Let me go! You can’t do this! I’m a shareholder!” Diego screamed, thrashing against the guards.
Alejandro stood up slowly, leaning over the table, staring down at his brother with eyes devoid of any familial warmth.
“You’re right, Diego. You are a shareholder,” Alejandro said quietly. “Or rather, you were.”
Alejandro picked up a second document from his folder and dropped it in front of Don Fernando.
“According to Section 9, Article 4 of our corporate charter,” Alejandro announced to the room, “any member of the board or executive tier found guilty of active industrial espionage, fraud against the corporation, or the illegal forgery of company documents is immediately stripped of all stock options, dividends, and voting rights, effective instantly, with zero financial buyouts.”
Don Fernando adjusted his glasses, scanned the legal clause, and nodded solemnly. “The clause is valid, Mr. Villarreal. The board acknowledges and votes unanimously to expel Diego Villarreal from the company permanently.”
“All in favor?” Alejandro asked.

Every single hand around the mahogany table went up.
Diego let out a guttural cry of pure rage and defeat, slumping forward as the security guards hauled him up by his designer suit jacket.
