CHAPTER 4 — The Confession That Destroyed the Torino Dynasty

Nobody spoke.
The rain outside seemed to disappear beneath the weight of Salvatore Torino's recorded confession.
The tape continued.
"The night you were born...
my empire was collapsing."
Vincent closed his eyes.
"Our enemies kidnapped my newborn son.
They demanded every dollar I owned.
If I refused...
they would kill him."
Another pause.
The tape hissed.
Then Salvatore whispered something no one expected.
"By sunrise...
my son was already dead."
Emma gasped.
Marco stared at Vincent.
Adrian slowly lowered his head.
Salvatore continued.
"The nurse begged me not to destroy another family.
She had just delivered another healthy baby."
Vincent felt sick.
"No..."
The tape went on.
"I told myself I was saving a child.
But the truth...
I was saving my empire."
Adrian clenched his fists.
"You stole me from my family..."
The recorder answered him as if hearing his voice.
"Adrian Rossi fought to find his son.
I made sure he never could."
Vincent turned toward Adrian.
"You knew?"
"For years."
"Why didn't you come for me?"
Tears filled the old man's eyes.
"I did."
"I came every birthday."
"I watched from across the street."
"I saw you growing up."
"I couldn't risk getting you killed."
Emma quietly asked,
"Then why reveal yourself now?"
Adrian reached into the satchel rescued from the burning archive.
He removed another file.
Unlike the others...
It wasn't old.
It had been created only three weeks earlier.
Across the front:
SUCCESSION PROTOCOL
Inside was a contract signed by Luca.
If Vincent died before naming a new heir...
Every criminal network...
Every offshore account...
Every hidden fortune...
Would automatically transfer to Luca.
But one page stopped everyone cold.
Luca hadn't acted alone.
Beside his signature...
Another name appeared.
Sophia Torino.
Vincent's younger sister.
The only family member he still trusted.
Marco whispered,
"No..."
Vincent read the final paragraph.
Upon Vincent Torino's death, all remaining members of the bloodline deemed unnecessary shall be permanently eliminated.
Including:
• Sophia Torino
• Emma Collins
• Adrian Rossi
Marco looked confused.
"If Sophia signed this..."
"Why is she on the kill list?"
Emma answered before anyone else could.
"Because traitors are never meant to survive."
Silence.
Luca intended to erase every witness.
Every accomplice.
Every relative.
He wasn't just stealing the empire.
He was wiping out the entire Torino bloodline.
Then...
Vincent noticed something strange.
There was a tiny handwritten note at the bottom of the contract.
Not Luca's handwriting.
Just three words.
Trust Sophia.
His heartbeat quickened.
"What does this mean?"
Before anyone could answer—
A satellite phone on the table rang.
No caller ID.
Vincent answered.
A familiar voice laughed softly.
"Losing your empire already, Uncle?"
"Luca."
"I hope you enjoyed Father's confession."
Vincent's jaw tightened.
"You murdered him."
"No."
Luca chuckled.
"I simply finished what he started."
Then came the sentence that made Vincent's blood run cold.
"You still think I'm the villain..."
"...but you've never asked who has been giving me orders."
The line went silent.
Seconds later—
Every light inside the monastery went out.
Outside...
More than twenty black SUVs surrounded the building.
Their headlights illuminated the rain.
Dozens of armed men stepped out in perfect formation.
Then, from the center vehicle...
A woman in an elegant black coat emerged.
Vincent stared through the rain.
His face turned completely white.
It was Sophia.
She slowly raised a pistol...
May you like
And pointed it directly at the monastery.
