CHAPTER 9 – “THE MAN WHO LAUGHED… SAVED ANOTHER BRIDE”

Two years passed.
The story that had once shocked millions slowly faded from the headlines.
Emily had become one of the country's most respected philanthropists, while Ryan chose to live far from cameras and social media.
He never tried to rebuild his public image.
Instead, he quietly rebuilt himself.
Every weekend, he volunteered at community centers, speaking to young men about respect, emotional maturity, and the consequences of humiliation disguised as humor.
Few people believed he had changed.
Ryan didn't blame them.
He knew trust wasn't something you demanded.
It was something you earned.
One rainy afternoon, while leaving the community center, Ryan noticed shouting outside a nearby wedding venue.
A young bride stood crying beside the entrance.
Her white dress was soaked with champagne.
Her fiancé and several groomsmen were laughing.
"It was only a prank!"
"Come on, don't be so sensitive!"
The words struck Ryan like lightning.
It was as if he had traveled back to his own wedding day.
Without thinking, he walked toward them.
The groom laughed.
"Mind your own business, old man."
Ryan looked him straight in the eyes.
"I used those exact words once."
The groom smirked.
"So what?"
Ryan quietly pulled out his phone.
He opened a video.
The famous fountain incident.
His own face appeared on the screen.
Laughing.
Mocking Emily.
The groom's smile slowly disappeared.
Some guests immediately recognized Ryan.
"Oh my God..."
"That's him..."
"The fountain groom..."
Ryan looked around at everyone.
"I thought humiliating my wife would make people laugh."
"It made me lose everything."
Silence spread across the courtyard.
The young bride wiped away her tears.
Ryan walked over and handed her a dry jacket from his car.
"You deserve someone who protects your dignity."
"Not someone who entertains people at your expense."
The bride looked at her fiancé.
Then...
She slowly removed her engagement ring.
"I don't want this marriage."
The crowd gasped.
The groom panicked.
"Wait!"
"It was just a joke!"
The bride shook her head.
"No."
"It was a warning."
She walked away without looking back.
Ryan watched quietly.
For the first time...
Someone else's wedding ended differently because of his greatest mistake.
May you like
And somehow...
That gave him a small measure of peace.
