CHAPTER 1 — The Little Girl Who Stopped an Entire Airport

Everyone in Terminal B turned to stare.
The businessman in the navy suit had just stepped away from the woman in the elegant white pantsuit when a tiny voice echoed across the departure hall.
"DADDY!"
A little girl, no older than six, sprinted through the crowd with tears streaming down her face. Before anyone could react, she threw herself into the man's arms so hard that his briefcase crashed onto the polished floor.
The man froze.
His heart stopped.
He hadn't heard anyone call him "Daddy" in nearly five years.
Slowly, he wrapped his arms around the trembling child while confused travelers watched in silence.
The woman beside him—Victoria, the wealthy fiancée everyone believed he would marry in just two weeks—stood speechless.
"Who... is this?" she whispered.
The little girl buried her face against his shoulder, sobbing so hard she could barely breathe.
"I finally found you..."
The man's name was Ethan Carter.
Five years earlier, he had disappeared from his hometown after receiving what he believed was the cruelest message of his life.
His wife, Emily, had vanished overnight.
All she left behind was divorce paperwork and a short note:
"Don't look for us. We don't need you anymore."
Ethan believed she had chosen someone richer.
Broken and humiliated, he buried himself in work, eventually becoming one of the youngest executives in a global investment company.
He never married again.
Until Victoria.
She was beautiful.
Powerful.
Connected.
Their engagement had become front-page news.
But now...
This crying little girl was destroying the perfect future he had spent years building.
Victoria crossed her arms.
"Ethan... answer me."
The child finally lifted her head.
"I've been looking for you everywhere."
Her voice cracked.
"Mom said you'd never stop loving me."
Ethan stared into her eyes.
Hazel.
Exactly like his own.
His breathing became uneven.
"What's... your name?"
The girl wiped away her tears.
"Lily."
His knees almost gave out.
That was the name Emily had always wanted if they ever had a daughter.
But Emily had disappeared before their baby was born.
Unless...
His entire life had been built on a lie.
Then Lily slowly reached into the pocket of her little jacket.
"I have something Mommy told me to give you..."
She held out a tiny folded piece of paper.
May you like
Ethan's hands began to shake before he even opened it.
He had no idea that everything he believed about the past was about to collapse.
