CHAPTER 1 – The Wedding That Turned Into Public Humiliation

Emma Carter had dreamed of this day since she was sixteen.

The ballroom shimmered beneath crystal chandeliers. Hundreds of guests applauded as she walked toward the man she believed was the love of her life—Adrian Blackwell, the charming young CEO everyone admired.

She looked breathtaking in her ivory wedding gown.

Adrian smiled...

But there was something cold behind his eyes.

Emma ignored it.

Love had blinded her for far too long.

The ceremony was flawless. Their vows echoed through the grand hall, and cameras flashed nonstop as everyone celebrated what social media had already dubbed "The Wedding of the Year."

Then came the reception.

As the guests raised their champagne glasses, Adrian suddenly stood.

"I have something important to say before we cut the cake."

The room fell silent.

Emma smiled nervously.

She expected a romantic speech.

Instead...

Adrian looked directly into her eyes.

"I almost married the wrong woman."

The music stopped.

Every guest froze.

Emma's smile disappeared.

"What... what do you mean?"

Adrian laughed.

"I mean I finally realized I deserve someone who actually understands me."

At that exact moment...

A stunning brunette in a tight crimson dress walked through the ballroom doors.

High heels clicked across the marble floor.

She walked straight to Adrian...

...and kissed him in front of everyone.

Gasps exploded throughout the room.

Emma couldn't breathe.

"What are you doing?" she whispered.

The woman smirked.

"I'm Olivia."

She wrapped her arm around Adrian.

"The woman he's been in love with for the last two years."

Emma felt the world collapse beneath her feet.

Guests immediately pulled out their phones.

Some whispered.

Others laughed.

Adrian didn't stop them.

Instead, he removed his wedding ring...

...and casually tossed it onto Emma's plate.

"I only married you because your father's company looked profitable."

Emma's hands trembled.

"But... Dad sold the company months ago."

"I know."

Adrian smiled.

"Which means you're completely worthless now."

The crowd erupted into shocked murmurs.

Emma's mother burst into tears.

Her father clenched his fists.

Still...

Adrian wasn't finished humiliating her.

He pointed toward the enormous seven-tier wedding cake.

"Let's cut the cake."

Emma stared at him in disbelief.

"After everything you've done... you still want to celebrate?"

"Oh, absolutely."

His grin widened.

"Because everyone deserves to see what's inside."

May you like

Nobody understood what he meant.

Not yet.
