CHAPTER 9 — THE MAN BEHIND EVERY LIE
From the shadows stepped Nathan Blackwood.
But he wasn't alone.
Behind him stood six armed security contractors.
Nathan smiled.
"Thank you for opening the vault for me."
Damien stepped forward.
"This ends today."
Nathan laughed.
"No..."
"It ends with me."
He revealed that Victoria had never been the mastermind.
She had only covered up scandals to protect the family.
Nathan had manipulated everyone.
Richard.
Vanessa.
The fake DNA scandal.
The kidnapping.
Even the forged documents.
Every move had one purpose.
Remove every legal heir until he became the last Blackwood standing.
Nathan pointed his weapon toward Lily.
"As long as she lives..."
"I own nothing."
Emily immediately stood in front of her daughter.
"So you'll have to shoot me first."
Damien stepped beside them.
"So will you."
Then something unbelievable happened.
The rescued little boy quietly walked behind Nathan.
No one noticed him.
He picked up a loose steel chain hanging from an old crane.
With all his strength...
He pulled it.
The rusted crane roared to life.
Thousands of pounds of suspended steel crashed onto the floor between Nathan and Lily.
The impact knocked Nathan's weapon away.
Police officers stormed the bunker from every entrance.
Within seconds, Nathan and his men were surrounded.
As officers placed him in handcuffs, Nathan looked at Lily and smiled strangely.
"You think you've won?"
He nodded toward the old videotape still playing.
"You only watched the first recording."
Damien turned back toward the television.
The screen flickered.
A second hidden message began automatically.
His father's face appeared once more.
