CHAPTER 4 – The Sister Everyone Thought Was Dead

Ethan's heart nearly stopped.

His sister?

For twenty-one years, he had believed he was an only child.

His trembling hands searched deeper inside the locker. Beneath the documents lay an old VHS tape and a small envelope marked:

"Don't let her know who you are until she remembers."

Before Ethan could make sense of it, footsteps echoed through the station.

Someone else had found Locker 217.

He quickly shoved everything into his backpack and slipped into the crowded terminal just as two men in black suits arrived.

"He's here," one of them whispered into an earpiece.

"Search every exit."

Ethan ducked into a coffee shop and examined the final page inside the folder.

It contained only an address.

A quiet seaside town nearly 300 miles away.

Alongside it was a single name.

Emily Carter.

No Harper.

No explanation.

Only a recent photograph.

A young woman smiled while working at a small bookstore, completely unaware that she had once belonged to one of the richest families in America.

Ethan drove through the night.

The next afternoon, he finally reached the tiny bookstore.

His pulse raced as he stepped inside.

There she was.

She looked exactly like their mother.

The same green eyes.

The same gentle smile.

She looked up from arranging books.

"Hi," she said warmly. "Can I help you find something?"

Ethan opened his mouth...

But no words came out.

Just then, a black SUV stopped across the street.

Three armed men stepped out.

One of them spoke into a phone.

"We've found both Harper children."

At that exact moment, Emily looked toward the window.

For the first time in twenty-one years...

She recognized one of the men.

Her smile disappeared.

She whispered only four chilling words:

May you like

"They finally found me."

To be continue
