CHAPTER 6 – The Billion-Dollar Secret Hidden Underground
The news spread across every television in America within minutes.
"Harper Industries offers a $20 million reward for the capture of Ethan Harper and Emily Carter."
Their faces flashed across airports, train stations, and every major news channel.
To the world...
They were murderers.
To Richard Harper...
They were the last obstacles standing between him and absolute power.
Emily suddenly remembered something.
"Our father left us one more place."
She grabbed a road map from the truck and circled an abandoned lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
"There was a tunnel beneath it. Dad called it The Vault."
By sunrise, they reached the deserted coastline.
The lighthouse had been abandoned for decades.
Inside, beneath a rusted staircase, Ethan discovered a hidden keyhole shaped exactly like the silver heart pendant.
He inserted both halves.

The stone floor slowly slid open.
A secret staircase descended deep beneath the lighthouse.
At the bottom waited a massive underground vault untouched for twenty-one years.
Rows of steel cabinets lined the walls.
Hard drives.
Financial records.
Security footage.
Confidential contracts.
Every document carried the same signature:
Richard Harper.
Emily opened one cabinet and froze.
Inside were dozens of videotapes labeled with dates from twenty-one years earlier.
Ethan inserted one into an old projector.
The screen flickered to life.
Their father appeared.
He looked exhausted... terrified.
"If you're watching this," he began, "it means Richard has already made his move."
"He has bribed politicians, judges, and federal investigators. He has stolen Harper Industries... and ordered my death."
Ethan felt tears burning in his eyes.
Then his father looked directly into the camera.
"But Richard made one mistake."
"He never found the real ownership documents."
Their father reached toward the camera and held up a thick black folder.
"The legal ownership of Harper Industries was transferred years ago..."
"...not to me..."
"...but to my children."
Ethan and Emily stared at each other in disbelief.
They weren't just heirs.
They were the true legal owners of a billion-dollar empire.
Before they could celebrate—
Every light inside the vault suddenly went dark.
A red laser beam swept across the room.
Then a calm voice echoed through hidden speakers.
"Thank you for leading me here."
Richard Harper slowly stepped out of the shadows... surrounded by heavily armed mercenaries.
He smiled as he applauded.
"I've been searching for this vault for twenty-one years."
He raised a pistol and pointed it directly at Ethan.
