The music suddenly stopped.

The lead vehicle door opened.
An elderly man stepped out in an elegant navy suit.
Behind him walked several attorneys carrying thick folders.
The man scanned the crowd before locking eyes with Emily.

Ryan laughed nervously.

"I've completed your father's final instructions."
Emily slowly opened it.

Inside was the ownership certificate for Carter Global Holdings.
Ryan's company.
His father's company.
The company he believed he had inherited.
The old attorney spoke calmly.
"Ryan Carter never owned this corporation."
"His father transferred every share into a confidential trust five years ago."
"The only legal beneficiary..."
"...is Emily Dawson."
Ryan's face turned white.
"That's impossible!"
The attorney placed another document onto the table.
"And there's one more thing."
"The security footage from tonight has already been delivered to the police."
"Along with multiple recordings documenting attempted fraud, emotional abuse, and conspiracy to seize company assets."
Guests immediately began stepping away from Ryan.
The same people who had laughed at Emily only minutes earlier suddenly avoided looking at him.
His investors started checking their phones.
Board members quietly walked toward Emily.
Ryan finally realized the nightmare wasn't losing his company...
It was discovering that Emily had never needed him.

As police sirens echoed in the distance, Ryan dropped to his knees.
