CHAPTER 4: "The Boy Opened a Rusty Box... And the Entire Empire Started to Collapse"

The courtroom was silent.
Reporters crowded every aisle.
Emily stood beside the young heir as lawyers battled over the Carter fortune.
Everyone believed the truth had finally come out.
They were wrong.
The little boy quietly tugged on Emily's sleeve.
"Grandpa told me to wait until everyone was together."
He lifted the old teddy bear he had carried since arriving at the mansion.
From inside, he pulled out a tiny brass key.
The courtroom murmured.
"The box," the boy whispered. "Grandpa said only you could open it."
Emily looked at the attorney.
His face turned pale.
"There is... one private vault your father-in-law never allowed anyone to access."
Within an hour, they arrived at Carter National Bank.
Hidden beneath the oldest vault door sat a small rusted safe covered in dust.
Emily inserted the key.
Click.
The door slowly opened.
Inside wasn't gold.
It wasn't cash.
It was dozens of hard drives...
Hundreds of signed contracts...
And a black leather notebook.
The attorney flipped through the first pages.
His hands began to shake.
"My God..."
"This wasn't just Ryan."
Every contract exposed years of bribery, money laundering, fake charities, illegal land deals, and corporate murders disguised as accidents.
Some of the biggest business leaders in the country had secretly worked together.
Ryan had only been their puppet.
Emily suddenly realized why Ryan had been so desperate to silence her.
He wasn't protecting himself.
He was protecting an entire criminal network.
Before anyone could react...
The courtroom lights flickered.
Every phone in the room buzzed at the same time.
BREAKING NEWS
Multiple CEOs have disappeared within the last hour.
Outside...
Black SUVs surrounded the bank.
Not police.
Private security.
One man stepped out wearing black gloves.
He smiled as he watched Emily through the glass.
"So..."
"They found the vault."
He turned to the men behind him.
"No witnesses."
The lights went out.
A gunshot echoed through the hallway.
The little boy screamed.
Emily grabbed his hand and ran into the darkness...
May you like
Not knowing that someone inside the bank had already betrayed them.
