CHAPTER 1 — THE PERFECT MURDER

Everyone thought Ethan Caldwell was the perfect husband.

Successful. Charming. Devoted.

That illusion shattered the moment his luxury yacht sailed into the middle of the Atlantic under a sky so dark it looked like midnight at noon.

His wife, Amelia, stood at the railing in a white silk dress, terrified as the waves slammed against the yacht.

"I don't like this weather," she whispered.

Ethan smiled.

"It's going to be over soon."

She thought he was talking about the storm.

He wasn't.

Without warning, two men in black suits grabbed Amelia from behind.

"What are you doing? Ethan! Tell them to stop!"

She struggled desperately, her fingers digging into the polished steel railing while rain soaked her hair.

"Ethan! Please!"

The crew looked away.

Nobody moved.

Nobody wanted to become the next victim.

Ethan slowly walked toward her with a calm expression that made her blood run cold.

"I gave you ten wonderful years," he said quietly.

"You gave me your trust."

Amelia froze.

"What... are you talking about?"

He pulled a folder from inside his jacket.

Every page was a transfer of her assets.

Every signature belonged to her.

Or at least, they looked like hers.

"The company..."

"The beach houses..."

"The investment accounts..."

"They're all mine now."

Her heart stopped.

"You forged everything..."

"I improved my future," Ethan replied with a smile.

She finally understood why he insisted on taking this "romantic anniversary cruise."

There would be no witnesses.

No cameras.

Only an accident at sea.

She screamed as the bodyguards lifted her over the railing.

"Ethan! I'm pregnant!"

For the first time...

He hesitated.

Only for a second.

Then he laughed.

"Then the ocean gets two bodies."

His hand pushed forward.

Amelia disappeared into the roaring black waves.

The storm swallowed her scream.

Within minutes, the coast guard received a distress call.

"Passenger lost during severe weather."

Officially...

It was nothing more than a tragic accident.

But as the yacht sailed away...

Far beneath the crashing waves...

May you like

Someone saw Amelia sinking.

And they weren't about to let her die.
