CHAPTER 3 — “The Man in the Black SUV”

Nathan locked every door of the VIP lounge.
Emily held Oliver close, her hands trembling.
“Who were those men?” Nathan demanded.
Emily looked at him with fear in her eyes.
“The same people who made me disappear.”
Before Nathan could ask more, his phone rang.
Unknown number.
He answered.
A cold male voice whispered, “You should have stayed dead, Emily.”
Nathan’s blood turned ice cold.
Then the voice laughed.
“And the boy… should never have spoken.”
Emily covered Oliver’s ears.
Nathan’s jaw tightened. “Who are you?”
The man replied, “Someone your father trusted.”
Then a photo appeared on Nathan’s phone.
It showed Oliver standing in the airport…
taken only minutes ago.
Emily gasped.
“They’re inside the airport.”
Nathan turned to his security chief.
“Lock down every exit.”
But before anyone moved, Oliver suddenly pointed at the lounge window.
“Mommy…”
Everyone turned.
Across the terminal stood an old man in a black coat.
Smiling.
Emily’s face went white.
“That’s Victor Hale.”
Nathan froze.
“My father’s business partner?”
Emily nodded slowly.
“He’s the man who buried me alive in a lie.”
Victor lifted two fingers in a silent greeting.
Then disappeared into the crowd.
Nathan looked at Emily, his voice shaking with rage.
“Tell me everything.”
Emily hugged Oliver tighter.
“Your father didn’t die from a heart attack, Nathan.”
May you like
Nathan stopped breathing.
Emily whispered, “Victor killed him.”
