CHAPTER 4 — “The Secret Hidden in the Photograph”
Nathan’s world shattered in one sentence.
His father.
His company.
Emily’s disappearance.
Oliver’s entire childhood.
All of it had been stolen by one man.
Emily placed the old photograph on the table.
“Your father knew Victor was selling aviation defense technology to criminals.”
Nathan stared at the faded picture.
“But why hide the key with you?”
Emily’s eyes filled with tears.
“Because he trusted me more than his own board.”
Nathan carefully scanned the hidden coordinates.
They pointed to an abandoned hangar outside Chicago.
Hangar 19.
The same hangar where Nathan’s father had launched his first aircraft.
Nathan stood.
“We’re going there.”
Emily grabbed his arm.
“No. That’s what Victor wants.”
But Nathan’s voice was firm.
“If my father left the truth there, I’m not running anymore.”
That night, under heavy rain, three black SUVs arrived at Hangar 19.
Nathan stepped out first.
Emily followed, holding Oliver’s hand.
Inside the hangar, dust covered old planes and broken engines.
At the far wall stood a locked steel cabinet.
Nathan entered the code from the photograph.
Click.
The cabinet opened.
Inside was a small black drive…
and a handwritten letter.
Nathan recognized his father’s handwriting instantly.
His hands shook as he opened it.
“Son, if you are reading this, then Victor has already betrayed us.”
Emily began to cry silently.
Nathan kept reading.
“The child Emily carries is not only your son… he is the legal heir to everything I protected.”
Nathan froze.
Oliver looked up.
“Daddy? What does that mean?”
Before Nathan could answer—
A spotlight exploded across the hangar.
Victor Hale stepped from the shadows with armed men behind him.
He smiled.
“It means the boy owns half the empire.”
