CHAPTER 3: The Husband Who Came to Cry Was Arrested at the Funeral

Daniel wore black to Emily’s funeral.

He stood beside her empty coffin, wiping fake tears from his face while reporters whispered about the “heartbroken husband who lost everything.”

Then he stepped forward to speak.

“My wife was my world,” Daniel said, voice shaking. “I would give anything to hold her one more time.”

Suddenly, the church doors opened.

Michael walked in with two detectives behind him.

Daniel’s face turned pale.

One detective held up a small evidence bag.

Inside was Emily’s smartwatch.

The room went silent.

The detective pressed play.

Daniel’s voice filled the church.

“You should’ve signed the divorce papers. This way is much easier.”

Gasps exploded across the room.

Daniel stumbled backward.

“No
 that’s fake.”

Then Emily’s voice played next.

“I loved you
”

And Daniel’s cold reply followed.

“I know. That’s why this worked.”

Emily’s mother collapsed screaming.

The mistress ran for the exit.

And Daniel, the grieving widower, was handcuffed in front of everyone who had believed his lies.

But just as police dragged him away, Michael received one more message from Emily’s private server.
