CHAPTER 3: The Husband Who Came to Cry Was Arrested at the Funeral

Daniel wore black to Emilyâs funeral.
He stood beside her empty coffin, wiping fake tears from his face while reporters whispered about the âheartbroken husband who lost everything.â
Then he stepped forward to speak.
âMy wife was my world,â Daniel said, voice shaking. âI would give anything to hold her one more time.â
Suddenly, the church doors opened.
Michael walked in with two detectives behind him.
Danielâs face turned pale.
One detective held up a small evidence bag.
Inside was Emilyâs smartwatch.
The room went silent.
The detective pressed play.
Danielâs voice filled the church.
âYou shouldâve signed the divorce papers. This way is much easier.â
Gasps exploded across the room.
Daniel stumbled backward.
âNo⊠thatâs fake.â
Then Emilyâs voice played next.
âI loved youâŠâ
And Danielâs cold reply followed.
âI know. Thatâs why this worked.â
Emilyâs mother collapsed screaming.
The mistress ran for the exit.
And Daniel, the grieving widower, was handcuffed in front of everyone who had believed his lies.
But just as police dragged him away, Michael received one more message from Emilyâs private server.
