CHAPTER 3 – The Billionaire Who Missed Everything

That evening, Grant canceled every meeting.
The board protested.
Investors called nonstop.
His chief operating officer warned that delaying the acquisition could cost hundreds of millions.
Grant ignored every call.
Instead...
He found himself sitting on the floor of Claire's modest townhouse.
Not in a penthouse.
Not in a corporate office.
On a living-room rug covered with toy blocks.
Oliver climbed into his lap without hesitation.
Grant froze.
No business deal had ever terrified him this much.
"What do I do?" he whispered.
Claire smiled faintly.
"Just stay."
For the next hour...
The billionaire learned things no financial report had ever shown him.
Lucas loved dinosaurs.
Noah refused to eat carrots unless Ethan did first.
Oliver fell asleep whenever someone rubbed gentle circles on his back.
And Ethan...
Ethan quietly watched Grant the entire time.
Finally, he asked,
"Are you leaving again?"
The question shattered the room.
Grant couldn't answer immediately.
Because for the first time in years...
He realized promises were worth more than contracts.
He slowly reached into his wallet.
Instead of handing Ethan money...
He removed every business card inside.
Every VIP membership.
Every invitation.
Then he placed them on the coffee table.
"I've spent my whole life proving I was important."
He looked into his son's eyes.
"I've never tried proving I was your dad."
Ethan stared at him for several seconds.
Then he did something no billionaire could ever buy.
He wrapped his small arms around Grant's neck.
But at that exact moment...
Claire's phone vibrated.
One message.
Unknown number.
Only seven chilling words appeared on the screen.
"He finally found them. You're all in danger."
Claire's face turned white.
Grant looked up.
"What happened?"
She slowly lowered the phone.
"I prayed this day would never come."
Outside...
May you like
A black SUV had already stopped across the street.
And someone inside was watching the house.
