Chapter 18 - THE SICILIAN LESSON

Giancarlo’s enforcers fanned out, hands sliding toward their waistbands in a clear display of intimidation.

Vivien didn't blink. She didn't raise her voice. She simply pressed a single button on her silver wrist cuff.

Instantly, the ceiling panels above the lounge clicked open. Four tactical operatives dropped silently from the overhead rafters, their suppressed automatic weapons locked dead-center on the chests of Giancarlo’s men before they could even clear leather. At the same time, the double doors behind them swung open, and Luca Rossi stepped into the room, flanked by a dozen heavily armed loyalists blocking every possible exit.

Giancarlo’s smirk vanished instantly, replaced by a cold, sudden spike of dread. He looked from the rifle barrels pointed at his heart to his younger brother standing in the doorway.

"Luca? You’re taking orders from a woman?" Giancarlo hissed, his face flushing with fury. "Have you lost your damn mind?"

"I haven't lost my mind, brother," Luca said coldly, his voice devoid of familial warmth. "I just learned how to survive. If you were smart, you’d look at the table before you speak."

Vivien walked forward slowly, stopping three feet away from Giancarlo. She reached into her blazer pocket, pulled out a slim manila folder, and dropped it onto the glass coffee table between them.

Giancarlo looked down. He slowly opened the folder. Inside were detailed satellite coordinates, cargo manifests, and financial ledgers documenting every illegal arms shipment, drug route, and human trafficking corridor his Sicilian syndicate operated across the Mediterranean. Worse still, page four detailed the exact Swiss bank accounts where he hid his personal wealth—accounts that had already been frozen by Vivien’s legal team thirty minutes before his plane landed.

"You... you tapped our network?" Giancarlo whispered, his bravado entirely evaporated.

"I didn't just tap it, Giancarlo. I bought your primary shipping ports in Palermo this morning," Vivien said softly, her eyes locking onto his with a terrifying, flat intensity. "You can work for the Vasiliev Foundation as a mid-level logistics manager, or you can walk out that door, get back on your private jet, and spend the rest of your life dodging Interpol notices and federal indictments. You have ten seconds to decide."
