CHAPTER 5 — The Investigation That Exposed Everything

By evening, the boutique looked less like a jewelry store and more like a crime scene.

Corporate auditors arrived carrying laptops.

Human Resources.

Legal advisors.

Compliance officers.

Even external accountants.

Adrian had ordered a complete investigation.

Every sale.

Every commission.

Every employee complaint.

The records stretched back five years.

Blessing sat alone in the manager's office, trying to steady her shaking hands.

She whispered to herself,

"They'll never find anything..."

She believed she had covered every trail.

She was wrong.

The first discovery came within thirty minutes.

One auditor frowned.

"Sir..."

"There are unusual commission transfers."

Adrian walked over.

"What kind?"

"Sales made by Kaima..."

"...were repeatedly reassigned to Manager Blessing."

Another auditor added,

"It wasn't once."

"It happened seventy-three times."

The room froze.

Seventy-three.

For nearly two years.

Every major sale Kaima made had been stolen.

Then another discovery.

"Employee complaints disappeared from the system."

"Someone deleted them."

Another.

"Performance reports were altered."

Another.

"Promotion scores were falsified."

Another.

"Three former employees resigned after reporting workplace bullying."

Another.

"There are suspicious cash withdrawals."

Blessing slowly closed her eyes.

Her entire career was collapsing.

Outside the office, Kaima sat quietly beside the elderly woman.

She still couldn't believe any of this was happening.

The old woman held her hand.

"You look frightened."

Kaima laughed softly.

"I've never seen so many lawyers."

The woman smiled.

"They're not here because of you."

"They're here because truth finally arrived."

Kaima looked down.

"I never wanted anyone punished."

"I only wanted people to be kinder."

The old woman squeezed her hand.

"And that's why you deserve more than kindness."

Hours later...

The auditors returned.

The lead investigator placed a thick folder on Adrian's desk.

"We've completed the preliminary review."

He opened it.

"Evidence indicates financial fraud."

"Commission theft."

"Abuse of authority."

"Workplace harassment."

"Manipulation of payroll."

"Document falsification."

Estimated losses:

Over $420,000.

Blessing burst into tears.

"Sir... please..."

"I can explain."

Adrian slowly closed the folder.

"No."

"You can explain it to the police."

Two officers from the Financial Crimes Unit stepped inside.

Blessing's face turned completely white.

Handcuffs clicked around her wrists.

Every employee watched in stunned silence as the woman who had terrorized them for years was escorted through the same front doors where she had once humiliated others.

For the first time...

Nobody followed her.

Nobody defended her.

Nobody even looked her in the eyes.

As the police cars disappeared, Adrian turned toward Kaima.

"You've suffered because of our company's failure."

"I intend to fix that."

Kaima smiled politely.

"I don't need revenge."

Adrian nodded.

"I know."

"But justice isn't revenge."

"It's responsibility."

Neither of them noticed...

Across the street...

A black luxury sedan had been watching everything.

Inside sat a sharply dressed man in his forties.

He lowered his sunglasses.

Smiled slowly.

Then whispered,

May you like

"So..."

"She's finally been found."
