Chapter 20 - The Unbreakable Queen

That evening, I stood on the balcony overlooking the vast, endless ocean. The sky was painted in breathtaking shades of deep violet and gold as the sun dipped below the horizon.

I held a small silver lockbox in my hands. Inside was the simple wristwatch my father had given me—the tracking beacon that had brought Marcus to my door on that terrifying afternoon. I looked at the ticking hands of the watch, remembering the darkness, the blood, and the icy terror of being left to die.

They had thought I was helpless. They had thought I was a quiet, obedient victim who would suffer in silence while they enjoyed their stolen luxury. They had tried to break me, to erase me, and to steal the very lives of my unborn children.

But they had forgotten one fundamental truth: a mother fighting for her children is the most dangerous force in existence.

I unclasped the watch, letting it rest in the palm of my hand. Then, with a smooth, decisive movement, I dropped it into the roaring ocean waves below, watching it sink into the deep blue forever.

I turned back toward the warm, brightly lit house where the laughter of my sons echoed through the halls. The past was completely destroyed, the debt was fully paid, and my empire was just beginning.
