Chapter 4 - Bloodline Betrayal

The ballroom erupted into chaos. Whispers turned into shouts as guests realized the Moretti empire was tearing itself apart from within.

"He's lying!" Julian screamed, struggling against my grip. "Dominic, he’s trying to frame me!"

"Silence!" I roared, the authority in my voice cutting through the noise like a thunderclap.

I dragged Julian to his feet, pulling him toward my private study behind the ballroom. I motioned for Vincent, Sophia, Dr. Harris, and my son Ethan to follow. I needed answers, and I needed them away from the prying eyes of New York high society.

Inside the study, I shoved Julian onto the couch and locked the reinforced mahogany doors.

"Speak, Doctor," I commanded, my hand resting on the holster beneath my jacket. "Who forced you to falsify Elena's death certificate?"

Dr. Harris pulled a folded, yellowed letter from the folder. "The person who paid me off was using an offshore account tied to the De Luca estate. But the hand-written directive was signed with a monogrammed wax seal."

He placed the letter on the desk.

I looked down. The wax seal wasn't Julian's.

It belonged to my mother, Victoria Moretti—the matriarch who had supposedly been living in a private care facility in Switzerland for the last five years.
