Chapter 7 - A Mother's Secret

Before Victoria could press the button, a small shadow darted across the floor.

It was Lily.

The three-year-old girl, who had been sitting quietly in Sophia's arms, suddenly lunged forward with unbelievable speed, grabbing Victoria's walking stick and yanked it sideways with precise, structural force.

Victoria lost her balance, stumbling violently against the corner of the heavy oak desk. The remote flew from her hand and shattered across the hard floor.

Vincent tackled Julian to the ground before he could grab it, while I lunged forward and pinned my mother against the wall, disarming her hidden wrist-blade in one swift maneuver.

"Get them out of here!" I barked to Vincent, referring to my mother and Julian. "Lock them in the subterranean vault until the authorities arrive."

As Vincent dragged the traitors away, the room fell into a heavy, suffocating quiet.

I dropped to my knees, breathing heavily, completely shattered by the revelations of the night. My wife had been murdered. My mother was a monster. My brother was a traitor.

Sophia stepped forward and knelt beside me, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder.

"Mr. Moretti... Dominic," she whispered gently. "There is something you need to know about Elena. Something she made me swear to protect until Ethan turned eight."
