Chapter 10 - The Family Portrait RestoredThree days later, the storm had passed over Lakehaven, leaving behind crisp autumn air and brilliant morning sunlight that streamed through the crystal chandeliers of Hale House.

In the grand hallway, little three-year-old Lily Carter sat on a velvet stool, swinging her legs and happily munching on a strawberry pastry provided by the estate's private chef.

A few feet away stood Rachel, watching with a mixture of awe and disbelief as workers carefully uninstalled the old framed photograph of a four-year-old boy from the wall between the two tall windows.

"Where is it going, Mr. Hale?" Rachel asked softly.

Vincent walked down the grand marble staircase, dressed in a sharp, charcoal-gray suit. Standing beside him, wearing a brand-new navy blue blazer and looking healthier, brighter, and safer than he had in six years, was ten-year-old Ethan Hale.

The silver bracelet gleamed brightly on Ethan's wrist, catching the morning light.

"It doesn't need to hang in the hallway anymore," Vincent said, placing a warm, protective hand on his son's shoulder. "Because today, we are taking a new family portrait."

Ethan looked up at his father, a genuine, crooked grin spreading across his face—the exact same grin that had haunted Vincent’s dreams for six long years.

"Can Aunt Rachel and Lily be in it too, Dad?" Ethan asked eagerly.

Vincent looked at Rachel, a rare, soft smile touching the corners of his lips.

"They already are," Vincent replied quietly. "They always will be."

As the camera flash popped, capturing the smiling faces of a restored family beneath the bright Lakehaven sun, the dark ghosts of the past were finally laid to rest, locked away forever behind the unbreakable walls of a father's fierce, unyielding love.
