CHAPTER 3 – “The Vault That Was Never Meant to Open”

The underground corridor was colder than the rest of the palace.

Emily followed behind Sheikh Zayed, still holding the tiny brass key like it might burn through her palm.

Behind them, the old advisor kept begging.

“My Lord, please. Some doors are sealed for a reason.”

But the Sheikh didn’t stop.

For twenty-two years, he had lived under one question: why had his grandfather died whispering, “The truth is inside the blue vase”?

Now the answer was only a few steps away.

At the end of the corridor stood a small black iron door.

No gold.

No jewels.

No royal symbol.

Just one keyhole.

Emily handed him the key.

The Sheikh inserted it.

Click.

The door opened.

Inside was not treasure.

It was a wooden box, a stack of old letters, and one black-and-white photograph.

The Sheikh picked up the photo.

His face changed instantly.

It showed his grandfather standing beside a young woman… holding a baby girl.

On the back, written in faded ink, were five words:

“The rightful heir is alive.”

Emily’s blood ran cold.

Then the old advisor whispered behind them,

“Your mother was not the only child.”

The Sheikh slowly turned.

“What did you say?”

The advisor’s eyes filled with guilt.

“Your grandfather had a firstborn daughter. She was hidden after a palace betrayal. Everyone was told she died.”

Emily stepped back, confused and terrified.

Then the Sheikh opened the final letter.

His hands began to shake.

Because inside was a birth record.

A name.

A date.

And a hospital stamp from America.

Emily saw her own surname.

Carter.

The Sheikh looked at her.

The poor maid who had broken the vase…

wasn’t a servant at all.

She was royal blood.

May you like

And the entire palace had just watched her kneel.
