CHAPTER 4 – “The DNA Test That Shattered the Kingdom”

Emily couldn’t breathe.
She stared at the birth certificate again.
Emily Grace Carter.
Her birthday.
Her mother’s name.
Every detail matched.
“This… this has to be a mistake,” she whispered.
“I grew up in a trailer park outside Denver. My mother cleaned hotel rooms. My father died before I was born.”
The old advisor slowly shook his head.
“No…”
“You were told that story because someone paid to erase the truth.”
Silence swallowed the underground vault.
The Sheikh unfolded another letter.
This one was sealed with his grandfather’s royal crest.
His voice cracked as he read aloud.
“If you are reading this, then my greatest fear has come true. Someone inside our own family betrayed us. My granddaughter was taken from the palace the night she was born. Only one loyal servant escaped with her. She was given a new name... Carter.”
Emily’s knees nearly gave out.
“No…”
“No, that's impossible…”
The Sheikh looked at her with disbelief.
“You're my cousin.”
“You've been part of this family your entire life…”
“…without ever knowing it.”
Tears streamed down Emily’s face.
Every birthday she had spent alone.
Every Christmas with secondhand gifts.
Every hungry night.
Every time she believed no one wanted her...
It had all been built on one enormous lie.
But before anyone could speak—
A loud explosion echoed through the palace.
BOOM!
The lights flickered.
Security alarms screamed through every hallway.
One of the royal guards burst into the vault.
“My Lord!”
“The west gate has been breached!”
“They're heading straight for this room!”
The Sheikh instantly understood.
“They know the vault has been opened.”
“They've come for the documents.”
The old advisor turned deathly pale.
“They're not thieves…”
“They're the people who stole Emily twenty years ago.”
Within seconds, armed men dressed as palace security stormed into the corridor.
Their leader smiled coldly.
“So…”
“The lost princess finally came home.”
He slowly raised his pistol.
“But she'll disappear…”
May you like
“…one last time.”
