Chapter 5 - The Purge of the Falcone House

When Lucas walked into the room and saw the dead orchid, the air in the penthouse turned freezing.
He didn't say a word. He went to the hallway and roared a single name: "GINO!"
Within minutes, Maria was brought up to the penthouse in handcuffs. She was weeping, throwing herself at Lucas's feet, begging for mercy.
"They have my granddaughter!" Maria sobbed. "The Rossi family... they took my little Sofia! They told me if I didn't put the powder in Nadia's food, they would send Sofia back to me in pieces! I had no choice, Don Lucas! Please!"
Lucas looked down at the weeping woman with no pity in his eyes. "You brought poison into my house. You targeted my brother’s child."
"Lucas, wait," Nadia interrupted, stepping forward.
Lucas turned to her, his brow furrowed. "Nadia, she tried to kill your child."
"She did it because they have her granddaughter," Nadia said, her voice steady, stronger than it had ever been. "If we kill Maria, we prove we are no better than the Rossis. But if we save her granddaughter, we show the city that the Falcones protect their people. And we find out exactly where the Rossis are hiding."

Lucas stared at Nadia. For the first time, he saw the fierce, unbreakable spirit of the woman his brother had loved. She wasn't just a survivor; she had the mind of a leader.
He turned back to Gino. "Locate the girl. Assemble the strike team. We launch the attack tonight."
