Chapter 6 - The Fall and the New Era

The assault on the Rossi stronghold was swift and merciless.

Lucas Falcone did not fight with words; he fought with fire. By midnight, the Rossi warehouses were in ashes, their assets frozen, and their soldiers disarmed. Bianca’s father, realizing he had lost everything, fled the country, leaving his daughter behind to face the consequences alone.

In the early hours of the morning, Lucas returned to the penthouse. He was physically unhurt, but his coat was gone, and his shirt sleeves were rolled up.

He found Nadia sitting by the window, looking out over the city lights.

"It is over," Lucas said quietly. "The Rossi family is no more. Bianca will spend the rest of her life in a federal penitentiary for conspiracy and murder."

Nadia let out a long, shuddering breath. The tension that had held her body tight for months finally dissolved. "And Tomas?"

"Tomas has justice," Lucas said, walking over to sit beside her. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box. He opened it to reveal a simple, elegant gold ring. "This was my mother's. Tomas wanted to give it to you, but he died before he could bring you to this house."

Lucas took Nadia's hand and placed the ring in her palm. "You are a Falcone, Nadia. This family, this empire, belongs to you and your child. I will raise Tomas’s baby as my own heir. You will never have to hide, scrub floors, or fear anyone ever again."

Nadia looked down at the gold ring, then up into Lucas’s dark, unwavering eyes. She saw no cruelty in them now—only a deep, protective promise.

She slipped the ring onto her finger, her hand resting firmly over her belly.

The maid who had been forced to her knees in front of forty guests had finally stood up. And from the ashes of the empire that had tried to destroy her, a new matriarch was born.
