CHAPTER 3 — The Cleaner Who Owned the Palace

The hotel owner trembled.
The old cleaner, Margaret Blake, lowered her eyes.
"I never wanted anyone to know."
But Adrian stared at her in disbelief.
"Mom… you own this hotel?"
Margaret nodded softly.
"Not the hotel. The land."
The guests gasped.
The same socialite who had mocked her tried to smile.
"Mrs. Blake, I think there’s been a misunderstanding—"
Margaret turned to her.
"No. The misunderstanding was yours."
Then she looked at the young waitress.
"From tonight on, she stays. Double her salary."
The event manager stepped back, sweating.
Margaret pointed at him.
"And you… are finished."
But the real shock came when Adrian opened his mother’s old handbag.
Inside was a yellowed envelope.
On it were three words:
FOR MY SON.
Adrian opened it with shaking hands.
Inside was a deed, a photo… and a secret will.
His mother had not disappeared because she was ashamed.
