Chapter 8 – The Secret Inside Vault 117

Lily's scream echoed through the collapsing ranch.
"DAD!"
Dust swallowed everything.
The floor split apart as wooden beams crashed into the underground tunnels.
Samuel pulled Lily away just before the ceiling caved in.
"We have to go!"
"But my father—"
"He wanted you alive!"
The sheriff grabbed the emergency radio.
"Agent Mason! Who are you? What is Subject L?"
Only static answered.
Outside, the Silver Wolves had already taken control of the property.
Black helicopters circled overhead.
Searchlights swept across the burning ranch.
For the first time, Lily realized this had never been about land.
It had never been about money.
It had always been about her.
Samuel led Lily through an old irrigation tunnel that emptied nearly two miles from the ranch.
Hidden beneath thick trees sat an abandoned train station.
There, an elderly woman waited beside an old pickup truck.
She looked at Lily and smiled gently.
"I've been waiting for you."
Samuel immediately lowered his rifle.
"Dr. Harper..."
Lily frowned.
"You know her?"
Samuel nodded.
"Your father trusted her with his life."
Dr. Harper handed Lily a faded envelope sealed with red wax.
"He told me to give you this only if the ranch fell."
Inside was another handwritten letter.
Lily unfolded it carefully.
Her father's words shook her to the core.
"Lily... if you're reading this, it means they made you believe I was dead. But there's one truth I've hidden from you your entire life."
Her hands trembled.
"I am not your biological father."
The world stopped.
Lily could barely breathe.
"No..."
Tears rolled down her face.
"It can't be..."
Samuel looked away.
He had known.
Dr. Harper quietly continued reading.
"I found you eighteen years ago after a secret government convoy was attacked. You were the only survivor. Around your neck was a silver pendant engraved with the letter L."
Lily instinctively touched the necklace she had worn since childhood.
The pendant.
The one she had never taken off.
The same pendant the Silver Wolves wore as their emblem.
Her blood ran cold.
Dr. Harper whispered,
"You were never born into this family..."
"You were hidden inside it."
At that exact moment, headlights illuminated the abandoned station.
Three armored vehicles surrounded the building.
A loudspeaker crackled to life.
"Dr. Harper..."
"You've protected her long enough."
The station doors burst open.
Dozens of armed soldiers stormed inside.
Leading them was Agent Mason.
He removed his sunglasses, staring directly at Lily.
Then he slowly smiled.
"Welcome home..."
"...Princess."
Every person in the room froze.
Lily stared at him in disbelief.
"I don't understand."
Agent Mason stepped closer.
"You don't remember because your memories were erased."
He pointed at the silver pendant around her neck.
"That necklace isn't jewelry."
"It's the master key."
"The key to the organization you were born to lead."
Samuel tightened his grip on his rifle.
"No..."
Mason nodded.
"Yes."
He looked Lily straight in the eyes.
"The Silver Wolves have spent eighteen years searching for their missing heir."
"And tonight..."
May you like
"We finally found their queen."
